ok. Everyone. WHAT IS JIVING? No one has asked that yet. And it's even the example of what to search for and there is nothing all over everything on this site! Am I stupid? Should I already know what it is? Help!

actually JIVING is the most asked question of a newcomer. When something clears in your bank, it has Jived.
In your Latest Transactions you will see a checkmark. when a transactions clears with your bank you click on that checkmark. The transaction goes from a faded green to a darker green.
Look through these Support Forums for answers to frequently asked questions, they are quite helpful

So jiving is matching your bank statement with what has been uploaded by QIF onto CCBook to make sure the sums equal?

Yes, Jiving is how you can reconcile your transactions with your bank statement. We have a full walkthrough and tutorial on the process here: https://www.clearcheckbook.com/help/jive (it's much more informative than the link cswroe posted back in 2010)

We also have a true reconciliation tool available as well. You can learn more about this here: https://www.clearcheckbook.com/blog/clearcheckbook-updates/zero-out-method-reconciliation-tool-now-available
