What is jive and how does it work?

I just started using ClearCheckbook and am not sure what that feature is. Can you help me?

LoriMD,

Careful CCB is addicting and amazingly simple to use. Jived is also what some would call being "cleared".

Basically, enter your transaction in the register. When it "clears" the bank, check it off.

Your jived amount should equal your bank balance to know if you have balanced your register in the CCB.

I hope this helps.

It is how you balance your checkbook. "Jived" means that it has cleared your bank. There is a video in the help tutorials: https://www.clearcheckbook.com/help/tutorial

You can also use the search function to locate other similar questions in the forums.

Thanks so much. I thought that's what it meant but I thought why didn't they just say cleared. DUH

Jived is more fun?

I think "jived" is more fun, too. I often use "jibed" to show agreement so I understood what was meant. A quick Internet search gives a variety of opinions on "jived," "jibed," and "gibed." Some sources say they are interchangeable while others say they are not. It really doesn't make much difference to me since I think "jived" is a fun word to use.
