Support Forums Now Available

To help better support ClearCheckbook and all our members, we have put up a new Support Forum section. Now, you will be able to ask questions and get feedback or answers from other ClearCheckbook members. We also have a place for you to read about and share your tips and tricks. This will help you and others get the most out of ClearCheckbook.

We will be monitoring the forums and respond to any questions and comments that we come across.

You must be logged in to post on the forums, but anyone can read them. We hope this will help people find answers to their questions quicker, as it can sometimes take us a while to get to every email that comes in.

If you have a question about the site, please go to the Forums and see if someone else has already asked the question.

New Premium Feature: Custom Transaction Fields

We have just released a new feature for Premium Members that allow you to turn on and off certain custom fields for you transactions. These custom fields include check numbers, payee and memo/note fields.

Enabling any of these fields allows you to add them to your transactions. You can then sort by the check number and payee fields or search by any of the new custom fields.

To manage your custom fields, log in and go to the Settings link at the top right of the page. Then click on the link that says Manage Custom Transaction Fields. From here, you can select which new custom fields you would like turned on and off.

Balances seem off? Check the year.

I have had a few people email me asking why their balances are wrong and it seems like the site is calculating a transaction twice. What seems to be happening is people enter transactions with 2008 instead of 2009 and then don't see it at the top of the list and add it again, this time with the correct year... thus giving you two transactions and throwing off your balance.

This is mostly happening for transactions that are taking place at the first of the year. Some people are entering January 1, 2008 instead of January 1, 2009. The transaction then gets placed way back in the beginning of 2008 transactions and they don't see it... so they add it again, throwing things off.

So to sum it up, if something seems off, go back and double check that you didn't put the wrong year in when you were adding transactions.

If that doesn't seem to be the issue and you know everything else is correct, try clicking the "Refresh Balances" link that's located under the Account Overviews on the Dashboard and Summary pages.

New Feature: Suggest a Feature!

We have added a new feature to the site that lets you suggest new features that you would like to see added to the site, and also rate other members suggestions up and down.

We will use this feature list to determine in what order develop new upgrades to the site. If you have an idea that you would like to see added to the site, please log in and then click on the "Suggest a Feature" link at the top right side of the page.

The Suggest a Feature tool is to be used only for new features. This is not a place to report bugs. To report bugs or other issues, continue to use the Contact Us link at the bottom of the page.

Please check it out and add any features you would like to see added to the site!

Recent bug fixes and updates to ClearCheckbook

We are still working on fixing issues and adding updates based on user feedback. Some of the recent updates to the site are:

  • CheckBot is back online

  • Added ability to "hide all" categories in the dynamic category reports. This will easily let you select a single category to view.

  • Added a property to the Reminders gadget that lets you select if you want the calendar to appear

  • Added a property to the Reminders gadget for premium members that lets you select the number of days to view upcoming reminders.

  • Moved descriptions to the same line as the rest of the transaction for non-premium members (moves the description in the spot occupied by running balances for Premium members)

  • Fixed pie chart issue that was causing "Other" category to show incorrect results

  • Fixed search page issues related to multiple pages and sorting

  • Fixed a bug that was causing some members to see a No Account with a balance of 0 showing up in Account Overviews

  • Fixed recurring transaction/reminder bug that was causing transactions to show up as transfers or not show up at all
