A few updates and iPhone news

6/3/2010 in ClearCheckbook Updates
We have added a few changes to the site this morning. You now have the ability to hide your split transaction children from the transaction list (to take up less room) by clicking on Settings at the top right side of the page and then click on General Settings. You can choose to show or hide the split children here. If you hide the split children, they will still be counted toward your reports and budgets and can be found in the search. They will simply be hidden from the transaction register.

We also updated the Estimate Future Balances tool to work for a duration less than one month. You can now project what your balance will be for durations such as 2 weeks in the future.

The iPhone app has been completed. We are going through it and beta testing and fixing any bugs we find for another week and then will submit it to the app store.

Errors some of you received this morning are fixed.

We had an unusually intense spike in server usage late last night / early this morning. This was causing some of you to get an error message telling you to contact us. The issue that was causing the spike has been resolved and everything is back to normal.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

iPhone App Development Update w/ screenshots

5/24/2010 in ClearCheckbook Updates
I'd like to take a minute and give a status update in regards to the ClearCheckbook iPhone app. The developer we hired has been working extremely hard to get the app working to the specs we requested.

Pretty much all of the features are up and working in the app now. We're just getting the finishing touches put on it now (making the app look visually a nicer and fixing some formatting and bugs). We hope to have the app ready to submit to the App Store in 2 more weeks at the latest.

Here are some screenshots of the app as it stands right now:

Four new tutorials posted!

4/22/2010 in ClearCheckbook Updates
We have posted 4 new video tutorials to our Tutorials section. These new tutorials include setting up your accounts and categories, creating budgets, setting up a reminder and importing transactions.

The videos have been uploaded to YouTube in HD quality and can be viewed well there. Our tutorials page (which links to all the tutorials) can be found here: www.clearcheckbook.com/help/tutorial.

If there are any specific tutorials you would like to see added, let us know in the comments!

Rollover Budgets now available!

1/7/2010 in ClearCheckbook Updates
We just upgraded the Budgets/Spending Limits tool by adding a "Rollover" option. This option, if enabled, will let your spending limits rollover each month. This means that any unused money will be added to the limit for the following month.

Here's an example: You have a limit set on Entertainment for $100 a month. Lets say you only spend $50 this month. When the limit resets, your new limit will be $150 for the next month.

The opposite is also true though. If you spend more than your limit, your limit for the next month will be smaller by the amount you over spent.

You'll be able to tell which limits are set to rollover by an icon next to the limit amount.
