Login issues from February 21, 2017

Our hosting provider made some version updates to our servers that were incompatible with the services we used for authenticating our logins. There was no notice of this upgrade or else we would have worked to ensure there was no downtime. We fixed the problems that arose from the update so you should have no issues logging in anymore.

Database upgrade performed on Sunday November 6, 2016

Our hosting provider performed an upgrade on the database architecture that ClearCheckbook uses. When this change was made there were a couple hours of extremely long loading times for the website. We were able to make the necessary updates to fix the issues and now everything should be running optimally and the update provided by our hosting provider should result in less issues with database load times.

Announcing Jive Lock for your transactions

Use Jive Lock to disable editing and deleting of transactions that have been jived.

We just released an update that adds the ability to lock all transactions that were jived more than a specified number of days ago. We're calling this feature Jive Lock and it's available to all ClearCheckbook Premium members.

Using Jive Lock will help keep your jived balance in check by preventing any alterations to jived transactions which could throw your balance off. Another way to think of this is archiving jived transactions but still having them displayed in your transaction register.

All jived transactions that have been locked will replace the icon with a icon in the transaction register.
ClearCheckbook Jive Lock

You can set jived transactions to lock after 1, 2, 5, 10, 30, 60 or 90 days from the date the transaction was jived. This will give you at least one day to make any modifications or unjive a transaction before it's locked. The only times when a locked transaction can be modified are when you mark a locked transaction as 'paid' through the Credit Card tool, use the Delete All Transactions setting or by using the Start Over setting.

You can enable Jive Lock and set the number of days by clicking on Settings at the top right side of the page, then click on General Settings.

ClearCheckbook iOS app submitted to Apple for review

We submitted our new app to Apple for review. The app will be available for download as soon as it's reviewed and accepted by Apple. We'll post a message at that time with screenshots as well as some basic usage instructions.

ClearCheckbook iOS app beta update

I just wanted to give everyone an update on the beta testing stage of the new iOS app. In the last week and a half since we launched testing, we've received a lot of great feedback and have already issued two new updates in that time. The UI side of the app is pretty much complete and we've got a couple more issues to fix but those should be done within the next 7 days. After we finish this list of issues we'll release one or two more updates for a final round of testing.

The issues we have to work on are some long loading times on initial login or app re-launch, a few crashes with editing reminders and budgets and some other small bugs that shouldn't take long to fix.

Thanks again to everyone who's been helping us out with the testing and providing us with valuable feedback.

We'll have another announcement about a launch date after we're done fixing this last round of issues.
