Recovering a Forgotten Password

If you forgot your password to ClearCheckbook, you can request a one-time-use reset link be sent to your email address. This link is valid for 30 minutes and will let you change your password.

Instructions

  1. Enter the email address associated with your account in the box above and click "Reset Password".
  2. Open the email sent to your email address. The email will have the subject "New password for ClearCheckbook.com".
  3. Click on the link in the email we sent you within 30 minutes.
  4. Enter your new password and save the changes.
  5. Your password has been successfully updated and the next time you log in you can use the new password you just set.

Reset Process

Once you submit the request to recover your password you'll have 30 minutes to click the link in the recovery email. Once you do that you'll be taken to a page where you can enter a new password. After entering the new password you can sign in using that password.

Common Error Messages

Type Message How to Fix
Warning You are already signed into your account. To change your password, click on Settings at the top right side of the page and then click on Email and Password. You cannot use the Forgot Password form if you're currently signed in. Instead, you can use the normal password update form.
Error You must enter a valid email address The email address you entered is not properly formatted. Please ensure it's valid before submitting again.
Error The email address you entered wasn't found in our system. Please check for any issues and try again. Make sure you are entering the correct email address that's associated with your login. If you can't remember which email address you used, please contact us
Error You must enter a valid password and the passwords must match. Make sure your password and password verification match. Capitalization, punctuation and spaces all must match exactly. Also be sure your browser isn't trying to auto-fill the password field with an old or incorrect password.
Error The lost password code has expired. 30 minutes has passed since you requested the reset email. Submit the forgot password form again and complete the process within 30 minutes
Error The lost password code has already been used. You can only reset your password once with each reset link. If you've already reset your password with the current link you'll need to request another one.
